Sprout Infant Formula is an organic, vegan, milk free, dairy free, lactose-free, soy free baby formula produced in Australia.
It is a 100% plant-based formula, prepared using organic rice protein and organic pea protein. It contains coconut oil, not palm oil and is suitable for 0-12 months of age.
The ratio is 1 scoop to 2 oz of water.

Sprout's infant formula is gentle nutrition for little tummies and contains key nutrients for your child to grow up strong, happy and healthy.
Sprout is an organic certified, 100% plant based formula that contains no animal product or by-product. It is suitable for 0-12 months.
It is a lactose-free, certified vegan formula based on pea and rice protein. The organic ingredients contain all of your babies’ nutritional requirements, including DHA, proteins, vitamins, minerals (including calcium) and essential amino acids, all from plant sources.
It is suitable for babies experiencing difficulties digesting animal proteins and for vegan babies. The nutrient content is identical to regular infant milk based on cow's or goat's milk protein.
Vegan formulas taste different to milk based formula and may have a slightly bitter taste, which is common for Vegan formulas. As this is a specialty formula, we do not offer refunds or exchanges if your little one refuses to drink it.

Ratio of Formula to Water
The ratio is 1 scoop to 2 oz of water. One unpacked scoop of formula (using the scoop provided in every box of formula) to two ounces of water. One scoop is 8.8g/0.31 oz.
Optimal mixing temperature - Important to follow
The ideal water temperature for mixing plant based formula is 122F – 158 F (50-70 degrees Celsius), this will help the formula completely dissolve. Shaking the bottle for a few extra seconds before serving will also help to dissolve it more effectively. The warm water mixing temperature is important due to the different texture of rice-based formula compared to dairy based formula.
Formula Preparation Instructions
- Clean everything (bottle, teat and ring) in boiling water for 3 - 5 minutes
- Boil new clean water using the volumes in the feeding tables below. Do not use microwaved, artificially softened or repeatedly boiled water
- Cool to optimal mixing temperature: 122 F / 50 C
- Fill 2/3 of the bottle with the clean boiled water
- Using the measuring spoon provided and according to the instructions, add the correct number of scoops
- Level off with the back of a clean dry knife. Do not compress the powder
- Close the bottle
- Shake well until dissolved (more than 15 seconds). A small foam later should disappear by itself after a short time
- Add remaining water and shake lightly again until solution is evenly distributed and diluted
- Hold the bottle under cold running water. Cool to drinking temperature: 98.6 F / 37 C
- Always test the temperature
- Ready to feed!
Can I prepare the formula without boiling the water?
While many parents do not boil the water they are preparing the formula with, it is advised to do so as it can eliminate bacteria.
Care Instructions
- Store formula powder in a cool, dry place. Do not refrigerate
- Keep airtight and use within 3 weeks
- Do not add extra scoops of powder or mix with anything else (such as regular cow milk)
- If left sitting at room temperature, you should use a bottle of prepared formula within 1 hour
- If refrigerated, a prepared bottle of formula should be used within 2-12 hours
- Expiration date is indicated on each box in the European format Day/Month/Year

We do not dispatch 7 days a week and have a daily 3pm Pacific shipping cut-off, so the transit time estimates are from when the order is shipped, not when it was placed. Orders placed after cutoff or over the weekend will be dispatched on the next business day.

Delivery is made by DHL. Tracking information is emailed to you immediately upon shipment and you will also receive automatic tracking updates from DHL via email or text depending upon your preference.
The DHL tracking will provide an ETA, which will constantly update throughout the transit with accuracy improving as it gets closer to the destination.

I love how clean the ingredients are, and my baby does not get fussy after eating since this is lactose free. However, during the baby’s feed I noticed the formula will clump up in the area where the milk stands still, I constantly have to shake the bottle, even in the middle of the feeding. This concerns me that my baby isn’t getting enough of the formula since it appears it does not dissolve well.
This is the only formula my son tolerates with a dairy allergy and we love the clean ingredient label. However, shipping to the US took almost 4 weeks from the day of ordering. The order took a week to ship from Australia, then after arriving in the US it sat in customs for 10 days. It’s definitely worth the wait, but make sure you order with plenty of buffer time before running out!
We had previously tried several other plant-based formulas for our little one, but unfortunately, our baby didn't take to the taste of those options. However, with Sprout, our baby quickly adapted to the taste within just a week! It was a relief to find a plant-based formula that our baby enjoys.
