About the Formula

Sprout Organic's infant formula is made with the goodness of organic plants which are a natural source of proteins and antioxidants. Sprout's clean and organic ingredients are formulated to support the optimal health of your little one from birth to 12 months of age.

Sprout's infant formula is gentle nutrition for little tummies and contains key nutrients for your child to grow up strong, happy and healthy. 

Sprout is an organic certified, 100% plant based formula that contains no animal product or by-product. It is suitable for 0-12 months. 

It is a lactose-free, certified vegan formula based on pea and rice protein. The organic ingredients contain all of your babies’ nutritional requirements, including DHA, proteins, vitamins, minerals (including calcium) and essential amino acids, all from plant sources. 

It is suitable for babies experiencing difficulties digesting animal proteins and for vegan babies. The nutrient content is identical to regular infant milk based on cow's or goat's milk protein. 

Vegan formulas taste different to milk based formula and may have a slightly bitter taste, which is common for Vegan formulas. As this is a specialty formula, we do not offer refunds or exchanges if your little one refuses to drink it.

Preparation

Ratio of Formula to Water 

The ratio is 1 scoop to 2 oz of water. One unpacked scoop of formula (using the scoop provided in every box of formula) to two ounces of water. One scoop is 8.8g/0.31 oz.

Optimal mixing temperature - Important to follow

The ideal water temperature for mixing plant based formula is 122F – 158 F (50-70 degrees Celsius), this will help the formula completely dissolve. Shaking the bottle for a few extra seconds before serving will also help to dissolve it more effectively. The warm water mixing temperature is important due to the different texture of rice-based formula compared to dairy based formula.

Formula Preparation Instructions 

1. Clean everything (bottle, teat and ring) in boiling water for 3 - 5 minutes
2. Boil new clean water using the volumes in the feeding tables below. Do not use microwaved, artificially softened or repeatedly boiled water
3.  Cool to optimal mixing temperature: 122 F / 50 C
4.  Fill 2/3 of the bottle with the clean boiled water
5.  Using the measuring spoon provided and according to the instructions, add the correct number of scoops - 1 scoop per 1 fluid ounce of water
6.  Level off with the back of a clean dry knife. Do not compress the powder
7.  Close the bottle
8.  Shake well until dissolved (more than 15 seconds). A small foam later should disappear by itself after a short time
9.  Add remaining water and shake lightly again until solution is evenly distributed and diluted
10.  Hold the bottle under cold running water. Cool to drinking temperature: 98.6 F / 37 C
11.  Always test the temperature
12.  Ready to feed!

Can I prepare the formula without boiling the water? 

While many parents do not boil the water they are preparing the formula with, it is advised to do so as it can eliminate bacteria. 

Care Instructions 

•  Store formula powder in a cool, dry place. Do not refrigerate
•  Keep airtight and use within 3 weeks
•  Do not add extra scoops of powder or mix with anything else (such as regular cow milk)
•  If left sitting at room temperature, you should use a bottle of prepared formula within 1 hour
•  If refrigerated, a prepared bottle of formula should be used within 2-12 hours
•  Expiration date is indicated on each box in the European format Day/Month/Year
